Phyllis Joan McCoy

Phyllis (Smith) McCoy, 76, was called Home on January 19th, 2019. Phyllis was born to George and Pearl (Boyles) Smith on September 18th, 1942 in Logansport, Indiana. Phyllis graduated from Peru High School in 1960, then went on to attend Ivy Tech State College in 1987. Phyllis married Ronald Beck in 1961, then later married the love of her life, Robert M. McCoy, on December 5th, 1965 in Peru, and he preceded her in passing on November 28th, 1999.

Phyllis was an avid Pacers fan. She loved to sew and crochet in her spare time. She enjoyed any card game. Phyllis was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Phyllis will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Phyllis leaves behind her daughters, Teresa "Tess" (Dan) Parkinson of Kokomo, Indiana, Hazel (Chuck) Jones of West Lafayette, Indiana, and Nancy (Bryan) Crampton of Roseville, Michigan; sister Mary (Jim) Wirz; 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis is preceded in passing by her parents; her husband; brothers Paul, Robert, and Albert "Butchie" Smith

Friends and family may call from 10 AM to 12PM on Thursday, January 24th at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, with funeral service following at 12PM, officiated by son-in-law Pastor R. Bryan Crampton. Phyllis will be laid to rest at Marion National Cemetery following the service.
