Rita Joann Parrish, age 76, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023. She was born February 6, 1947 to Chester and Mildred (Morris) Haworth in Kokomo. She was a graduate of the 1965 class of Kokomo High School, and after she graduated, she worked at Delco for a short time. She met her future husband, Winfred, at Grissom Air Reserve base during the Vietnam war, and they married August 12, 1967. She stayed with Delco until her second child was born, choosing to stay at home and take care of her family full time. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since the age of 18. She was a Daughter of Job prior to that. She was a very active member, holding every title you can have, up to a Worthy Matron. She loved to crochet and make quilts, and she was very talented. She loved to entertain and beautifully decorate her home with Home Interior items. She would host all the family functions and her home was dubbed "the Party House". She was kind, generous and loved her family very much.
Rita is survived by her husband, Winfred; brother, Bruce Haworth; her children, Kirk (Rachel) Parrish, Brent (Cyndi) Parrish, Greg (Jennifer) Parrish, and Beth Parrish; grandchildren, Alyssa, Samson, Amber, Preston, Braden, Hunter, Taylor, Hayley and Ashlyn, and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Mildred, and sister, Janet Haworth.
A visitation for Rita will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. A funeral service will occur the following morning at 11:00 AM at the same location.
