Ruth Bauder

Ruth M. Bauder, 79, Camby, Indiana, died peacefully at home, on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, with her daughter Elaine and her cat Sheba by her side. She was born August 26, 1932, in New York City, New York, to William and Matilida (Smithz) Schanbacher. She served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1953 and later worked at Delco Electronics. She loved painting, taking photos, and growing roses. She is survived by one daughter, Elaine Bauder; one son, James (Brenda) Bauder; three grandchildren, Rachel (Brian) Moore, Tiffany (Jermey) Ebert, and Jamie Bauder; six great-grandchildren, Isabel Paige Bauder, Deborah Moore, Kylie Ebert, Jermey Ebert Jr., Cadance Ebert, and Bentley Ebert; and her cat, Sheba. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Timothy Bauder; and one sister, Helen Akst. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Griffith officiating. Entombment of her ashes will take place at a later time in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
