Steve graduated from Eastern High School in 1963. He worked for Chrysler for 36 years and retired in 2000. He was a member of UAW#685 and Faith Community Church in Phlox, In. Steve enjoyed bowling and playing euchre. He enjoyed being outdoors, where he spent his time fishing, mushroom hunting, and cruising around on his golf cart. Most importantly, he was a devout family man and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Pap". He especially loved being spoiled by his wife and her homemade cooking.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Kay Hunt, who passed away in 2018.
