Sue Ellen Hight

Sue Ellen (Heronemus) Hight, 77, of Kokomo, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022. She was born to the late William Henry and Freda Heronemus. Sue is survived by her husband, partner, and best friend, Dale Hight, whom she married on June 22, 1968, in Kokomo.

Sue attended Kokomo High School. She was employed at Delco Electronics for over 29 years before her retirement. While Sue loved her Kokomo Wildcats, nothing made her happier than doting on the little ones. She lit up when one of them was on her lap. She raised children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to golf and did so regularly up to last fall. You always knew where you stood with Sue, as she would never hesitate to say exactly what was on her mind. Friends and family were drawn to Sue’s honesty and love. She will be sorely missed by all.

In addition to her husband, Dale, Sue is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Woody) Bates, Teri (Charles) Woodard, and Sandy (Brad) Carstensen; 8 grandchildren, Max Kinslow, Hailey Bates, Caramon Bates, Ash Bates, Danielle Carstensen, Clarrisa (Chavez) Lollie, Aelleon Woodard, and Trista (Chris) Straub; 9 great-grandchildren, Mykah, Mykel, Jerzy, Liam, Macie, Allena, Spencer, Castiel, and Cammie, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents William Henry and Freda Heronemus; two brothers, Allen Heronemus and Dick Heronemus; two sisters, Gene Corne and Marian Groves; and son, Robert Hight.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Sue on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Columbian Club of Kokomo, 1631 Foxfire Lane, Kokomo, IN 46902.
