Susan Anita Puranen

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years (Willard M. Puranen), her parents (Andrew and Harriet Rytman) and several sisters and a brother.

Sue is survived by her son Christopher Puranen (Laura), her daughters Colleen Drake (David), Carrie Janes (Greg), her grandchildren Alyson (D.J.) Carozza, Andrew, Lucy, Travis, Lesley, Taylor and Olivia and her great grandchild Virginia (Ginny) Marie.

She moved to Kokomo, IN with her late husband in 1973. For 15 years, she enjoyed working for Haworth High School and Kokomo Center Township Schools in the cafeteria. She was an avid Band Mom while her kids were in high school, she enjoyed crocheting, cooking and planning events, but most of all playing and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved being retired, travelling with her late husband. She donated many hours to crocheting hats for the patients at the St. Vincent Cancer Center.

Mom, we will miss you dearly but we are so thankful for the love and time you gave our family until the very end.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 8, 2023 with visitation from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. and service to follow. Pastor Nathan Janssen will be officiating. Sue will be buried at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Cudahy, WI. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Red Cross or American Cancer Society.
