Teri Ann Sommer, 62, went Home to be with the Lord on September 30th, 2018. Teri was born to Raymond and Mary Ellen Buscoe on April 7th, 1956 in South Bend, Indiana. Teri married her husband of 40 years, Michael Sommer, on June 30, 1978, and he survives.
Teri enjoyed her life to the fullest. In moments of time with family and friends Teri would say, “This is what it’s all about!” Teri’s love of everyone she met is a true example of how we all should all aspire to be. Teri cherished her husband, and set aside every Friday evening for “Growler night”; when they would listen to records all evening. While this has been going on for a long time, they recently started to play artists alphabetically. Last Friday with her husband by her side, she shared they were on the letter ‘H’.
Teri enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends. Celebrations would happen regularly sometimes for no reason at all. As a sign reads in their home, “You are a stranger here but once.” This was certainly the case in the Sommer home! Teri established a strong bond with everyone she encountered and welcomed everyone into her home with open arms!
Teri treasured her family. Her four children were the pride she shared with everyone. Her grandchildren embraced her vibrant nature, and learned a lot about style and fashion with grandma’s accessories! She loved the fashion shows by her granddaughters! Her grandsons accomplishments she shared with everyone and attended sporting events, concerts, recitals, etc at every opportunity.
Teri’s passion for her job was evident to everyone around her. She embraced the opportunity to work with individuals, finding their strengths and hidden talents so they could thrive in the work environment. Her bubbly personality was something you couldn’t resist, and you couldn’t help but jump on board with what she was doing!
Teri is survived by : Her husband, Michael Sommer, her four children, Jennifer Sommer, Adam (Leslie) Sommer, Christina (John) Knosp, and Daniel (Angie) Sommer, her sister Karen Tayler, her brother Bobby (Laura) Busko, Mother and Father in law Shirley and Ray Sommer, sister in law Mary (David) Riser, sister in-law Ellen Sommer, eleven grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Teri is preceded in passing by her parents Ray and Mary Ellen Bucsoe.
