

William David Colbert Sr., 74, of Kokomo, passed away at 7:00 PM Tuesday October 31, 2017 at St. Vincent-Kokomo. Born April 12, 1943 in Washington, Indiana, he was the son of the late Granville Colbert and Lucille (Harvey) Colbert. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. On July 31, 1970 in Lagro, Indiana, he married Pamela Sue (Wood), and she survives. He owned and operated William Colbert Custom Building for 45 years, retiring in 2005. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, living in the country, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Pamela Sue Colbert of Kokomo; three sons William D. (Sarah) Colbert Jr, Dee A. (Lisa) Colbert, and Norman R. Colbert, all of Kokomo; one sister Gerdine McDonough of Lebanon, Indiana; one brother Larry E. (Kathy) Colbert of Florida. There are also four granddaughters, Terri, Holly, Kirstyn, and Courtney; six great grandchildren, and one special niece Dana Sims Osbourn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Jan Sims, Starlee Colbert, and Judy Stone; also one granddaughter Maddlyn Colbert.
Military rites by the U.S. Army and the Kokomo Military Rites Team will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. A memorial visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM Saturday at the mortuary.
