

William "Bill" "Nick" Nicholson, 81, passed away Sunday, Oct. 13 ,2019. He was born June 14, 1938 in Kokomo to the late Gilbert and Virginia Nicholson. He married Mary (Chism) Nicholson on February 1, 1958 and she survives.
Bill graduated from Kokomo High School in 1956 and maintained many of those friends throughout the years. He worked at Chrysler Casting Plant for 31 years until his retirement in 1991. Most recently, he was employed for Button Motors. Bill was a member of the Moose Lodge, Blue Lodge, and Scottish Right Indianapolis. He was also a 32nd degree Mason. Bill loved spending time with family and he was always helping others. He also loved fishing, snowmobiling, camping, tinkering, attending grandchildren's sporting events, and spending time in Florida with dear friends.
He was a special friend to neighbors and was always ready to provide a helping hand.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary; son, Wayne (Kim) Nicholson; daughter, Dana (Scott) Benic; brother, Robert (Sue) Nicholson; sister-in-law, Roberta Nicholson; grandchildren, Jeremy (Leslie) Downs, Mistie (Downs) Jinks, Matthew Nicholson, Mike (Kerrie) Nicholson; great-grandchildren, Paiten Bell, Lainee Downs, Lymree Downs, Hadlie Jinks, Jeffrey and Lauren Jones; great great grandchild, Jace Jones; and special friends, Billy Joe "Bill" and Ida Reel.
As a husband, father, grandfather and brother, he was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by brother, Jim Nicholson.
There will be a time of visitation for Bill on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. The funeral service will be Thursday, Oct. 17, at 11:00 A.M., officiated by Pastor John Long, with visitation from 10:00 A.M. until time of service, also at the mortuary. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Bill's memory to the Wounded Warriors, envelopes will be provided.
