

William D. Simpson, 82, Kokomo, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Lebanon. He was born May 26, 1928, in Cass County, to Paul and Ginny Simpson. He married Betty Brock, and she survives.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and later worked at Chrysler for 36 years before retiring. He was a true, dedicated Harley Davidson rider for 63 years and a collector of antique cars. He belonged to the Mustang and T-Bird Antique Auto Clubs and was a member of the Eagles for over 35 years. He and Betty loved to travel.
In addition to his wife of 32 years, Betty Simpson, he is survived by one son, James (Teresa) Simpson; four step-sons, Mike (Karen) Shietze, Mark Shietze, Barry Shietze, and Darren (Lily) Shietze; one grandson, Dylan Simpson; and three sisters, Betty Herrick, Hellen Kellar, and Kay (Paul) Hardy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister and brother-in-law, Donna and George Carlson.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Ron DeGraaff officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
