Carmen Madrid Butac, 83, passed away on Nov. 7, 2025, in Lihue. She was born on April 13, 1942, in Bacarra Ilocos Norte in the Philippines. She was a laborer at a sugar plantation and Kilauea Guava Farm.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alfredo G. Butac, sisters Claridad Tangonan, Isabella Ramelb, Rosalina Fernandez, brothers Venancio Madrid, Napoleon Madrid, daughter Juvelyn, son Judith, parents Ignacio and Juliana Madrid.
She is survived by her daughters Adelaida (Dominador) Viajador, Jesusa (Riberto Pacobat), Avelina (Danilo Camungao), Glenda (David Arruda), Belinda Butac, sons Fernando (Eliza) Butac, Alex (Emelita) Butac Sr., 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Visitation begins at 9 a.m., Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
