She was preceded in death by her parents, Masato and Wakae Nakamae; her husband, Motomi Shigeta; her son, Ross Shigeta; and her sister, Helene Nakamae.
She is survived by her son, Galen (Jamelyn/Jamie) Shigeta; sister Laura Asari, Niece Cathy (Bruce) Wada; grandchildren, Kaili (Mandi) Panui, Travis (Ashleigh) Shigeta, and Tanner (Alohilani) Shigeta; and great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Kholten Panui, Easton Shigeta, and Ku Kamaluniu Shigeta.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 29, 2025, at Kapaa Missionary Church. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with a service to follow.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Garden Isle Health Care, Kauai Hospice, and Borthwick Kauai Mortuary for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flower arrangements, a Lei Tree will be available for those who wish to honor her memory.
