

Antoinette (Toni) (Honey) passed away at home surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Buffalo, New York. As a young child she moved to San Diego with her parents Anthony and Emma Suchan and sister Geri and later to Lemon Grove where she met the love of her life, Alex Alvarez. They were young and in love. Together they built a good life and would have celebrated 70 years of marriage March 23. Her devoted husband Alex was her love, her rock, friend, advocate and later, caregiver.
Honey was the world’s best mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be remembered for her generosity and zest for life, her energy was contagious and the love for family boundless. Honey enjoyed music, dancing, walking and summers at the beach. She was a great cook and would feed anyone coming through their door. She had an eye for aesthetics and beauty. She often lied about her age making us laugh, but now knowing the wisdom behind it, for she will be forever young in our hearts. She will be deeply missed by all her knew her.
Antoinette leaves behind her husband Alex Alvarez, daughter Theresa Tingle (Dave), son Stephen Alvarez (Cindy), Grandchildren David Tingle (Nikki), Stephen Tingle (Julie), Brady Alvarez (Monica), Alexis Escalera (Jason), Connor Alvarez. Great grandchildren: Jacob Tingle, Blake Tingle, Jameson Tingle, Alex Tingle and Gabriela Escalera.
Antoinette’s memorial service will held on Tuesday February 28th at 10 AM at Santa Sophia Catholic Church. Reception following mass.
