Carol Lee Hinman

Carol was born in Sherwood North Dakota, March 26,1927, to William and Jessie Close. After a few years of farming, the family moved to Mills, New Mexico, where the family started a very successful cattle ranch. Carol graduated from Raton High School in 1934 and started Nursing school where she met her husband Clyde. Carol and Clyde moved to Los Alamos were their son, Butch was born. Their daughter, Shirley was born in San Diego while they were on vacation visiting her parents. Carol and family moved to El Cajon California in 1954, where she worked as a nursing assistant. During her working years she moved into management and became one of the first Licensed Nursing Home Administrators in California. Carol spent 65 years as an administrator and during these 65 years she owned her own nursing home. Carol has seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Carol and Rex married in 1967 and were married for 36 years before Rex passed away. Rex had two children, Bonnie Mendenhall and Bruce Hinman. She was the best mother and friend a family could have. Many people stated that they wanted to be just like her and were honored to be her friend. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed by family and friends. Rest in peace our darling mom and may God always be with you.
