

He was born on December 19, 1934 in Casper, Wyoming to Glen Arthur and Diana Ellen Vickery.
Jack led a dynamic life marked by entrepreneurship and adventure. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Huachuca, Arizona & later he built a successful career in real estate as a founding partner of Vickery & White Realtors in La Mesa, California.
Jack was an avid traveler, boater, and car enthusiast, co-founding the car club “The Creepers” at Hoover High School. He flew to all corners of the globe, sailed the pacific and traversed all of North America in his campers and motorhomes.
He was always full of big ideas. While living in Del Mar with his family, Jack & Dianne Vickery invented Porta-Leggs, an RV accessory.
Jack developed numerous apartment complexes and was a pioneer in condominium conversions.
He also owned and operated a mid-sized motel in Kentucky with his wife Donna.
He was known for his generous spirit, love & enthusiasm. Jack encouraged those lucky enough to be around him to live life to the fullest.
He is preceded in death by his parents Glen and Diana, brothers Roy & Dean and first wife Patti Vickery and his second wife Dianne Vickery.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Vickery, sister Glenda; children Laura, Glen, and Scott; stepchildren Cheryl and Dana; grandchildren Baron and Amanda, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and his many lifelong friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 8, 2025, in Mission Beach, San Diego. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of Jack to the Boys & Girls Club of San Diego.
