Joanne Castaneda

Joanne was born on December 7, 1938 in Birmingham, Alabama to Charles and Evelyn Farrell. She attended San Diego High where she met her high school sweetheart, Robert “Bob”. They later married and together had four children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Throughout her life, her deep love for the Lord was always her guiding light. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and making memories together on family trips. Spending time near the ocean in La Jolla and Coronado always put a smile on her face. She would fondly look forward to her monthly luncheons with girlfriends from her school days. Joanne touched the lives of many and her angels will forever be by our side.

She is survived by her children Rebecca, Rick and Craig “Bubba”; her grandson Brad (Janelle) and great grandchildren Colton and Grayson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, daughter Brigitte and granddaughter Kelly.

A visitation to celebrate Joanne’s life will be held on Monday, January 8 from 5pm-8pm at Erickson-Anderson Mortuary located at 8390 Allison Ave in La Mesa. A burial service will take place on Tuesday, January 9 at 12pm at Mt. Hope Cemetery located at 3751 Market St in San Diego.
