Mr. Collier was born February 1, 1941 in Manchester, GA to the late Ralph Collier, Sr. and Hazel Ophelia Rivers Collier. He was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and previously worked for Metro Anesthesia. Mr. Collier was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a life time member of the NRA. He was a member of the Georgia Tree Association, spending time cultivating timber and focusing on conservation. Mr. Collier enjoyed farming and continued to ride his tractor as long as he was physically able. Spending time with his grandchildren, was the greatest love of his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a wife, Carolyn Janet Collier.
Survivors include his wife of over 20 years, Nancy Lassiter Collier; son, Shane (Vickie) Collier; daughter, Sharon (Gene) Futch; grandchildren, Ethan Futch and Lauren Futch; brother, Ralph “Sonny” Collier Jr.; several other relatives and friends.
The Gathering of Family and Friends will be Monday, May 17, 2021 from 10:00am until 11:00am at the funeral home. The Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00am Monday, May 17, 2021 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Ben Williams and Woodrow “Sonny” Fling officiating. A Private Entombment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
