Dayton Calhoun III

Mr. Calhoun was born December 31, 1944 in Hamilton, GA, son of the late Dayton Calhoun, Jr. and Lou Burleson Calhoun. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam, and a member of Glennville Baptist Church, Glennville, GA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Calhoun was preceded in death by his first wife, Cheryl Phillips Calhoun.

Survivors include his wife, Jan Holland Calhoun of Hogansville, GA; two children, Amanda Calhoun Wolverton and her husband, Tobin, of Simpsonville, SC and Dayton Calhoun, IV, and his wife, Jennifer, of Lake Arrowhead, CA; three step children, Jill Phillips and her husband, Roger, Karla Hendrix and her husband, Shane, and Cara Lewis and her husband, Mike; three grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Scott Hannah and Dr. David Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton, GA. The gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Franklin in memory of Mr. Dayton Calhoun, III.
