I remember Ms. Emily from exercise classes at the college and then also at a different location, which I remember as being over near where Rite Aide was.   She really gave us a great workout and made it fun.  I later became her Mary Kay lady.  She was a very good customer and we had our routine.  She’d call, I’d deliver.   Most of the time she left a check for me in a glass on the porch.  I’d take the check and leave her makeup.   As her health declined, we loss touch.  I often thought of her and wondered how she was doing.  My condolences to her family.  May she rest in peace.

I joined Emily’s exercise class at the college soon after she began the program. She was so vibrant and made exercising fun.  
My son, Mark Ward, lives at 309 Lane Circle. Sometimes I would visit her when I was at Mark’s. 
She was a very special lady and I hold dear my memories of her.
The paper only gave her passing not when services would be or I would have come.

Just heard from my mother via Chip and on the eve of Mother’s Day of Emily’s passing.  As kids growing up Emily was everyone’s MOM, always energized even while fighting migraines, smiling that beautiful smile making sure we all enjoyed the moment. She and husband Ben were truly meant for each other and it showed within their family.  Regrettably losing touch over the years but always close when hearing the Sheffield name, now together RIP.. much love to Chip, Lynn and John

I moved to LaGrange in 1977 after marrying a local boy.  I attended Emily's exercise class at LaGrange College and then in the basement of the First United Methodist Church.  She and Joanna, another instructor, were exceptional exercise enthusiasts!  I had 3 children and after the birth of each, Emily and Joanna would always manage to whip me back into shape.  

Emily was an inspiration.  Such a great role model with a fabulous figure even in her later years.  She made these fabulous homemade yeast rolls and invited all of us in her exercise class to come to her house where she had the rolls set up in three stages of production...the raw dough, a couple of hours after rising, and the final product.  I still have the recipe she gave to all of us.

I will always remember her and what a great time we had in her exercise class.  She remains one of my fondest memories after moving to LaGrange.  

Many fun memories of bowling with Mr. Ben and Mrs. Emily - always smiling and having a good time.  I will see you both again someday!
