

Mr. Bergeson was born January 6, 1942 in Beloit, Wisconsin, son of George and Lena Bergeson. He graduated from Beloit Catholic High School in 1960, and attended Milwaukee School of Engineering, as well as Auburn University. He graduated from Columbus College in 1975. He and his family moved to LaGrange in 1969 and he was employed by Westinghouse and then Mansours for many years, most recently employed at Auburn University as a Systems Analyst . George was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He was a Viet Nam Veteran and a member of the VFW and American Legion. George loved fishing, woodworking spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren. He was looking forward to the birth of his first great grandchild in June.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, sons, James and Robert and his daughter Theresa Pastrnak. Granddaughters, Christina Smith, Mary Elizabeth and Clara Bergeson ,Briana and Lindsey Crawford; Brother, Joe (his wife Kim) Bergeson, sister-in-law Penny Bergeson and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Martin, aunts, uncles, a cousin and his In-laws.
George was a wonderful Husband, Father and Grandfather , who was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to … St. Vincent DePaul or Mary Memorial Garden at St. Peters Catholic Church in memory of Mr. Bergeson.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday March 28, 2015, at St. Peters Catholic Church. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, March 27, 2015 from 6:00 till 7:45pm with a Rosary being said at 7:45pm at the funeral home.
