James Eual McGee

Mr. McGee was born June 25, 1953 in LaGrange, son of James M. McGee and Joyce Matthews McGee. He had lived in Marietta for the past 31 years. Mr. McGee was a graduate of LaGrange High School and had perfect attendance through his 12 years of school. He attended Georgia Southerwestern College and LaGrange College and was employed as a Home Mortgage Appraiser. Mr. McGee was a member of Hillside Congregational Christian Church. He was preceded in death by a niece, Roxanne Murphy and a nephew, Matthew Cole Welborn.

Survivors in addition to his parents, Joyce and Bill McGee; two sisters, Sherry Welborn and Vickie McGee; two nieces, Kim (Steven) Sticher and Jennifer (Michael) Conte; great nieces, Alyssa Sticher, Alexis Sticher, Haleigh Welborn Conte, and Bella Claire Conte; and three aunts, Myrna (Ray) Slaughter and family, Betty Allen and family, and Barbara McGee and family.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Max McCord officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of his parents, Joyce and Bill McGee, and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Rosemont Baptist Church, Joshua Project, in memory of James “Jimmy” Eual McGee.
