J.B. Short

J.B. Short was born July 8, 1937 in Harris County, GA and attended Chipley High School and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He spent his career in the engineering of the installation of glass tempering systems worldwide and spent much of his time in Eastern and Western Europe, Far East, Near East, Australia, United Kingdom, and all of North America, Mexico, and other locales.

After his retirement, J.B. and his wife returned to Harris County to restore and operate Sunnyside Farm. Mr. Short, a lifelong Christian, practiced the teachings of Christ by placing the needs of others before his own. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Bishop Short and Ellie Reid Short and a grandson, Jesse Short.

Mr. Short leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara; daughter, Elizabeth Sims (Scott); two sons, Michael (Michele), Christopher (Shannon); four granddaughters, Ashley Short, Grace Short, Allison Sims, and Anna Sims; sister, Adrienne (Eugene) Bowers; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Hopewell United Methodist Church, Pine Mountain, GA with Reverend Lauri Hartley and Reverend Kathy North officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. in the church social hall of Hopewell United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Midway Baptist Cemetery.
