

Dr. Gamble was born December 16, 1926 in St. Petersburg, FL, to the late Burton Leslie Gamble and Florence Moore Gamble. He was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church of LaGrange and was a Rotarian. Dr. Gamble proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. After his military tenure, he sought higher education in the field of dentistry. Dr. Gamble retired after a number of years, serving the Troup County community. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Holmes Gamble; two sons, John A. Gamble, Jr. and Burton Holmes Gamble.
Survivors include his daughters, Lynn Gamble McDonald and Gay Gamble McElroy; grandchildren, Kimberly McDonald (Brent) Deen, Erin McDonald (Chap) Hodge, Marti Allison McElroy, and Elizabeth “Bizzy” (Red) Drady; great grandchildren, Eli Deen, Avery Deen, and Cash Hodge; a beloved companion and caretaker, Patricia Lewis; other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be 2:00pm Thursday, August 25, 2016 in Shadowlawn Cemetery with Dr. Brian Germano officiating. The Gathering of Family and friends will be 1:30pm until 2:00pm prior to the service at graveside.
