
Mr. Hindsman was born October 30, 1935 in Cataula, GA to the late John T. Hindsman and Mavis Pearl (Perkins) Hindsman. He was a member of Pine Lake Chapel and also attended Midway Baptist Church. Mr. Hindsman was employed with Pascoe Building Systems for 23 years as a Sales Representative. He officiated youth and high School football for 30 years, was Chairman of the Columbus Youth Football League for more than 35 years and also received the Key to the City of Columbus. Mr. Hindsman was the Official Score keeper for Women's Softball in the 1996 Centennial Olympics.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hindsman; daughters, Terri (Rick) Western and Janet Moudy Hindsman; stepdaughter, Sharon Martin; stepson, Gary Whitley; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; sisters, Peggy Hindsman and Carol (David) Edwards; one brother-in-law, Joel Blount; several nieces, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held 5:00pm Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Midway Baptist Church in Pine Mountain, GA with Reverend Billy Ledbetter and Reverend Charles Mitchell officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice in memory of John T. Hindsman.
