Larry David Musick

Mr. Musick was born January 22, 1946 in Bowdon, GA, son of the late Parks Musick and Elaine Gower Musick. He was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square where he served as a Deacon and served as the Orchestra Director. He was very active within the church and played the Baritone Horn with the Orchestra. Mr. Musick loved hiking and bicycling and recently participated in BRAG. He also had a love for music, the outdoors, and the Auburn Tigers.

Mr. Musick was employed in the education system throughout his working years before retiring, beginning with Bowdon Elementary and Bremen Elementary Schools where he taught beginning band. Later he served as the Band Director and Assistant Principal for Carrollton Junior High School, Principal for Trion Elementary School, Principal for Gardner Newman Middle School, and most recently served as Principal for Long Cane Elementary School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raiford and Opal Kidd.

Survivors include his wife, Elise Kidd Musick of LaGrange; three children, Kyle Berry of New Orleans, Lauren Berry of Atlanta, GA, and Karen Farmer and her husband, Troy, of Columbus, OH; one grandson, Landon Farmer of Columbus, OH; two brothers, Jerry Musick and Danny Musick; brother-in-law, Roland Kidd; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at First Baptist Church on the Square with Dr. Paul Baxter, Reverend Paul Blair, and Reverend Tom Farr officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

The family will be at the home of his wife, Mrs. Elise Musick, and will receive friends at the funeral this evening from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
