Mrs. Lera Mae Davis, age 95 of LaGrange, Georgia passed away Friday, October 2nd at the Florence Hand Home, in LaGrange, Georgia. Mrs. Davis was born January 17, 1925 in Roanoke, Alabama and grew up in the Woodland Alabama community. Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Tom and Julia Yarbrough and was the last survivor of her eight siblings. Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter, Brenda Smith of Lagrange, Georgia and two sons, Mark Langford of Midway, Florida and Randall Davis of LaGrange, Georgia; grandchildren, and spouse, Shannon Smith (Sherrie) and great-grandson, Spenser Smith. Mrs. Davis was a hard worker, having a long career working in the local cotton mills and later operated a personal care home here in LaGrange. In her free time, Mrs. Davis was an avid gardener and quilt maker. Mrs. Davis was Christian by faith and was a long time member of Unity Baptist Church of LaGrange. Graveside services will be held 4:00pm Monday, October 5, 2020 in Shadowlawn Cemetery with the Rev. S.T. Janney officiating.
