Lillian Thompson Clausing

Mrs. Clausing was born October 5, 1918 in Tupelo, MS, daughter of the late Samuel Cleveland Garrett and Nettie Beatrice Smith Garrett. She had lived in LaGrange since 1985 and was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square where she was very involved with the soup kitchen ministry. She was employed with Kimberly-Clark Company before retiring. Mrs. Clausing was a volunteer at West Georgia Medical Center and had volunteered over 6000 hours.

Survivors include her husband, Robert W. Clausing, Sr.; three daughters, Carolyn Blankenship, Margie Kelly, and Virginia McCarter; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Paul Blair and Reverend Anthony Criswell officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

The gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church on the Square, Soup Kitchen Ministry, 100 Broad Street, LaGrange, GA 30240 in memory of Mrs. Lillian T. Clausing.
