

CAPT Marlowe was born November 15, 1943 in Camp White, Oregon to the late Lon Devere Marlowe Jr. and Miriam Printy Marlowe. He received his Ph.D in History from the University of Georgia, and was the Executive Director of Columbus State University Foundation before his retirement. CAPT Marlowe was a Vietnam Veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Navy. He was a long time Deacon and member of Union Baptist Church. Along with the Columbus State University Alumni Association, he was also involved with other various civic organizations, including Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Lynda Morgan Marlowe; son, Morgan Marlowe and his wife, Kelli Marlowe; daughter, Ellie Mosby and her husband, Todd Mosby; grandchildren, Palmer Marlowe, Lucas Marlowe, and Emma Kate Marlowe; siblings, Patricia McRae, Mimi Marlowe, Kathy Edmondson, Sue Marlowe, and Jane Marlowe; other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Union Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Howard and Reverend John Adams officiating. The gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Susan Oliver Scholarship Fund c/o Harris County Board of Education, 132 Barnesville Rd., Hamilton, GA 31811.
