Mrs. Taylor was born June 9, 1914 in LaGrange, daughter of the late Buford C. and Eleanora Harris Carter. She was a member of the First Baptist Church on the Square. Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Lonzo S. Taylor.
Survivors include her sons, Lonzo S. (Esther) Taylor, Jr. of Marion, IA and Christopher Carter (Diane) Taylor of LaGrange; grandchildren, David B. Taylor, Mark L. Taylor, and Heather Anastasia; great-grandson, Joseph Anastasia; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange Chapel with Dr. Paul R. Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the LaGrange Art Museum (112 LaFayette Parkway, LaGrange, GA 30240) in memory of Mrs. Taylor.
