Miles Filmore Thomas

Mr. Thomas was born October 1, 1920 in Douglasville, GA, son of the late James Solomon Thomas and Willie Faye Miles. He was employed with Southern Bell Telephone Company as a line foreman before retiring. Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Army/Aircorp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Frances Quinby Thomas, with whom he enjoyed 58 years of marriage. They enjoyed camping with their grandchildren and square dancing.

Survivors include his son, Ron Thomas (Pam) of Beaver Creek, OH; daughter, Pam Pitts of LaGrange; grandchildren, Chris Hale (Tongia), Tiffany Aspinwall (Keith), Jay Hale (Jennifer), and Renee Pitts, all of LaGrange; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Joe Thomas of Douglasville, GA; sister, Mildred Walton of Douglasville, GA; and a special friend, Sarah Wright of Douglasville, GA.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Gerald Westbrook and Dr. Paul Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
