Mrs. Cook was born March 20, 1937 in Heard County, GA, daughter of the late John C. Noles and Laura Nation Noles. She was a member of Hillcrest Methodist Church. Mrs. Cook was retired from K-Mart Department Store. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Y. Cook, a grandson, Curt, and a sister, John L. Anderson.
Survivors include four children, Lynn (Vic) Howard, Jenny (Tommy) Wilson, Jon (Kim) Cook, and Kalena (Jody) Atkins; six grandchildren, Thomas, Lauren, Kaitlyn, LeeAnn, Grace, and Tiffany; and three sisters, Ellaweese Barnes, Wilma Thomason, and Judy Blankenship.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M. today, November 26, 2011 at Hillcrest Methodist Church with Reverend Randy Nix officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church today from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Hillcrest Methodist Church in memory of Mrs. Nelda Jean Noles Cook.
