Nellie B. Johnson Brooks, 78, of Valley, AL peacefully passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 at her home. In addition to her parents, Omie and Geneva Johnson, she was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Brooks, I.

Nellie is survived by; son James D. Brooks II; daughter Cynthia D. Brooks and John Rose; and daughter Jessica J. Brooks & Carl A. Miley; brother, Floyd Johnson, Byron Johnson; sister, Joyce Heath, Gail Davis, Anita Traylor; brother, Larry Johnson, Jerry Johnson; sister, Jeanette Galloway, brother, Tony Johnson, Mike Johnson and Danny Johnson; grandchild, T.J. Stone, Jeannie D. Surowic, Vince Surowic, Savannah Tollerson, Olivia Rose, Jamie Legg, Haley Legg; great grandchild Blake Surowic and Makenzie Surowic.

The gathering of family and friends for will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel, LaGrange, Georgia.

The family would like to express the outstanding service of Chattahoochee Hospice and Gail and Charles Davis for their care and kindness.
