
Mrs. Hopkins was born July 24, 1924 in LaGrange, daughter of the late Charles Brooks Hennessy and Sara Harris Hennessy. She was a graduate of Georgia State University with a BBA in accounting and was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Mrs. Hopkins served as an officer at local, state, and national levels in many organizations including, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of American Colonist, Daughters of Colonial Wars of the 17th Century, Continental Society Daughters of Indian Wars, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Dames of Court of Honor, First Families of Georgia, and National Society Magna Charta Dames – Georgia Division. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Addis Harold Hopkins who was the pharmacist for LaGrange Pharmacy on Bull Street.
Survivors include one daughter, Sally Sue (John) Bradley of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Patricia (Brian) Cronin, Beth (Wes) Vinyard, and Jim (Patty) Crawford; six great grandchildren, Kelly Cronin, Aidan Cronin, Jordan Vinyard, John Vinyard, Garrett Vinyard, and Wes Crawford.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with The Reverend R. Allen Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in Hillview East Cemetery.
The gathering of family and friends will beTuesday evening from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
