Peggy New

Peggy was a devoted and passionate mother who fiercely loved and protected her children, always standing up for them no matter the circumstance. She had a strong spirit and a caring heart, and those who knew her understood that her family always came first.

She found joy in the simple, meaningful things in life—riding horses, fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors. She especially loved trips to Gulf Shores, Alabama, where she could relax by the water and enjoy time with those she loved. Peggy embraced country living and took pride in it, whether she was gardening, caring for her plants, or tending to goats, chickens, and other animals over the years.

She also had a sense of adventure and curiosity, often spending time searching for arrowheads and exploring the outdoors. Some of her happiest moments were spent surrounded by her children and grandchildren, making memories that will be cherished for years to come.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Kathleen Young (Freeman); her father, Floyd Young; her brother, Michael Young; and her sister, Rebecca Begley.

She is survived by her loving husband, Mark New; her children, Jessica Alford (Andrew), Erica Alldredge (Caleb), and Travis New (Morgan Carty); her siblings, David Young (Giselle) and Tammi Frazier; and her in-laws, Linda Chastine (Henry) and Larry New (Dale).

She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Alyssa Alford, Cole Alford, Noah Alford, Liam Alford, Gracie Head, Ryleigh Head, Kaelyn Alldredge, Jackson Alldredge, Kayleigh New, Kensley New, Kambrie New, and Kolby New.

A memorial service will be held on April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in LaGrange, Georgia, with Rev. Timothy A. Gadziala officiating. Family and friends are welcome to attend and show their support.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
