Ruby Colleen Henderson

Mrs. Henderson was born February 4, 1933 in LaGrange, GA, daughter of the late Martin Loyd Kirby and Bernice Brown Kirby. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was also active in the American Red Cross for many years, and was a member of the Republican Women. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Scott and Becky King.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Lee Henderson of LaGrange; four children, Ronald Kirby (Teena) Henderson and Robert Wayne Henderson, both of LaGrange, Susan Henderson (Mike) Smith of Nashville, TN, and Willie Carolyn (Ron) Charpentier of Franklin, TN; a brother, Martin Loyd “M.L.” Kirby of Hawkins, TX; grandchildren, Andy Henderson, Jason Henderson, Kitt Henderson, A.J. Henderson, Seth Smith, Nathan Smith, Ben Charpentier, Mallory Charpentier, and MacKenzie Charpentier; a great-granddaughter, Kaydence Love; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange Chapel. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

The family will be at their home, 994 Pyne Road, and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
