Sarah Avonelle Poole

Mrs. Poole was born August 20, 1934 in Gastonia, NC, daughter of the late John Eason McKeehan, Sr. and Martha Francis Butler McKeehan McDowell. She was a homemaker and Baptist by faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Poole was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Benton Poole, Sr. and a son, Clay Poole.

Survivors include four children, Alexander Poole (Connie Null) of LaGrange, GA, Stella Poole (Keith Ray) of Fortson, GA, Lesia Thomas (Donald) of Roanoke, AL, and Brandon Poole of Fortson, GA; five grandchildren, Willow Daniel of LaGrange, GA, Will McCormick of Eureka, CA, Whitney Arellano of Brookings, OR, Chad Alexander McCormick of Fortson, GA, and Chris Tipton of Chatsworth, GA; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 18, 2013 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Mr. Nicholas Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

The gathering of family and friends will be at the funeral home on Friday from 12noon til the funeral hour of 2:00 P.M. Those wishing to share a condolence or remembrance with the family may do so by visiting www.shlagrange.com.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of Mrs. Sarah Avonelle Poole.
