Thomas Truitt Morgan

Mr. Morgan was born June 24, 1938 in LaGrange, son of the late William Ellington Morgan, Jr. and Nancy Holt Mobley Morgan. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and then served in the United States Marine Corp. After the Marine Corp, Mr. Morgan moved to Atlanta where he was employed by the Trust Company of Georgia. In 1967 he moved back to LaGrange where he was employed by C&S bank and various banking organizations in LaGrange until he retired in 1998. Mr. Morgan was a life-long member of First Baptist Church on the Square and was a member of the Pastor’s Sunday School Class. He was also a former member of the LaGrange Rotary Club and the Home Builder’s Association.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Davis Morgan; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Beth and Don Kenny, Christine Marshall, and Lynn and Wilson Tennille; two grandchildren, Hayden and Caroline Marshall; two brothers, Will Morgan and Bruce Morgan; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Ida Cason Callaway Chapel of First Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Baxter and Dr. Hal Brady officiating. A private burial will follow in Hillview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:30 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church Welcome Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests all contributions to be made to First Baptist Church on the Square or the American Cancer Society.
