

Alice Fontenot (Gosset) Carte, 90, of LeBleu Settlement went to her heavenly home on April 1, 2013 in her room at Landmark Nursing Home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 12, 1923 in Lake Charles, LA to Joseph Theodore and Eloisine (ZeZen) Fontenot.
The funeral service will be held at 2pm on April 5, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Father Andreas Kedati will officiate. Visitation will begin at noon –9pm, Thursday with a rosary at 6pm and resume Friday 8am until service time. Burial will follow service at Hebert Cemetery in Hecker, LA.
Alice worked for many years at nursing homes and did private sitting. She enjoyed gardening and camping along with listening to French music and spending time with her family and friends.
Alice is survived by her longtime friend, Ferdie Trouille and many generations of nieces and nephews. She did not have any children but looked at many of them as her own.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents along with her brothers, Theo, Paul, Wilbert, Emery and Alfred Fontenot; sister, Nola Fontenot Trahan ; husbands, Edward Hebert, Truman Gosset and Al Dolmon Carte.
We would like to say a special thanks to all of the family and friends that were with her until the end, including niece, JoAnn Miller of Dry Creek and nephew, Joseph (Larry) Fontenot of LeBleu Settlement, Landmark Nursing Home Staff, Brighton Bridge Hospice and LCM Hospital.
