Alma Louise Chambers

(1927-2016)

Alma Chambers, 89, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016.

She loved being involved with various church activities and loved her grandchildren dearly.

She is survived by her two sons, John Howell Chambers and wife Judy of Orange City, FL. and David Lewis Chambers and wife Jennie of Hernando, MS; daughter, Carol Chambers of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, Stephen, Melissa, and Kimberly, two brothers, James Kennard and L.E. Kennard of the Baton Rouge area.

Alma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifford E. Chambers, parents, Lawrence and Alma Kennard, along with a sister, Gladys O’Neal.

The family would like to thank the Pulmonary Associates of Southwest Louisiana and LSU Family Practice and Dr. Chris Thompson for their care over the last several years, also, caregivers Carol Williams, Terronda Gibbs, Keena Sinegal, and others over the years.

Services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 5:00-9:00pm and will resume on Saturday from 8:00am until the time of the service.
