Anna Lou (Wallace) Mixon

She was born in Hattiesburg, MS to Haughey Donald and Mildred Smith Wallace on September 27,1926. She married the love of her life Christopher J. Mixon, Sr in 1949, they were married 31 years until his death.

Anna Lou graduated from Petal High School. She received her BS degree in Commerce from Mississippi Southern College in 1946. She was employed as a Forrest County Court Stenographer, then taught high school in Mississippi. She continued to hear from some of her students. She was a devout Christian and member of Boulevard Baptist Church where she taught Kindergarten in the 60s and was a church secretary for several years.

She loved collecting hummingbirds, traveling, cooking, and having church WMU meetings. Most of all she loved her family.

Those who greeted her in Heaven were her parents, husband, brother, Haughey D Wallace, Jr and his wife, Tommie Jean Wallace and brother-in-law, J.E. Anderson from Petal.

Those left to cherish her memories are her son Christopher J. Mixon, Jr and wife Tracy of Sulphur, LA; daughter, Elizabeth Irene Mixon LeJune of Moss Bluff; brother, John F. Wallace and wife Carline of Madison, MS; sister, Geane Anderson of Petal, MS; grandchildren, Kirk David Mixon and wife Kathy, Brandt Scott Mixon and wife Kimberly, Katie LeJeune Nobles and husband Chris, Rebekah LeJeune White and husband Cody, step granddaughter, Bethany Lea Nelson as well as numerous great and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Sunday July 11, 2021 from 3pm to 8pm.

Funeral services will be held at Moore Funeral Home in Petal, Mississippi on Tuesday July 13, 2021 at 1:30pm. Visitation will begin at 12:30pm until time of service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetary in Petal following services.
