Annie Broussard Miller, 95, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Resthaven Nursing Facilities.
She was an accomplished artist, especially loved painting in oils, and writing poetry. She enjoyed writing about the history of Cameron Parish and her memories growing up there. She was the epitome of southern hospitality and charm. Her love of people led to a career in nursing and taking care of others. She was loved by all.
Annie is survived by a sister, Ima Guidry of Lake Charles; two brothers, Hester Broussard (Mercedes) of Venice, LA; Arthur Broussard, Jr. (Carol) of Church Point, LA; she leaves behind three grandchildren, Sonia Andrews (Scott) of Walker, LA; Jaime Miller (Kerrie) of Sulphur, LA; Chad Miller (Kelly) of Moss Bluff, LA; five great grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah, John, Maddie, and Jonah as well as daughters-in-law Lucille Miller and Mary Lynn Miller.
She is preceded in death by her husband Yenest Miller and son J.D. Miller, siblings, Wilma Landry, Aline Perrin, Myrtis Buras, and Willa Nell Kelly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11:00am. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 5:00pm-9:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 8:00am until the procession to the church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Creole.
