Brian Adam Matte, age 62, of Moss Bluff, Louisiana passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022 due to a tragic hit and run accident. Brian was born April 26, 1960 in Rayne, LA. to parents Liness Adam Matte and Eula Leger.
Brian, a 50 year resident of Moss Bluff, was a parishioner of St. Theodore Catholic Church. He had a passion for being outdoors, especially when he was fishing, hunting, and horseback riding. Painting and wood carving were both hobbies that Brian was extremely talented at but also enjoyed arts of all mediums. Brian's family would often call him a "Jack of All Trades" and would reference the quote by Robert Greene: "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but often times better than a master of one." He will be remembered as a generalist rather than a specialist, as he was adept at many times.
The beach was a place that Brian truly enjoyed visiting and leaves some with the memory of a short story being published named the "Conk" about him and his brother David’s trips there. Brian was employed and a dedicated worker with Matte's Boudin Kitchen.
Vince Gill's "Go Rest High" was a song that Brian LOVED and he held that hymn very near and dear to his heart as "it described him to a tee."
Brian is welcomed into heaven by his father; first wife, Janet Pennington; brother, David Matte; and nephew, Micheal Paul Matte.
Those left to cherish Brian's memory are his mother, Eula Leger Matte; sisters, Angie David and husband Hal; and Arlene Cook all of Cow Island, LA.; second wife, Tania Matte of Franklin, NC.; as well as a niece and two nephews.
The family would like to give a sincere Thank You to James and Shelly Daigle and Harlyn Mallett for always being there for Brian anytime he may have needed.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com for the Matte family.
