Carroll was a longtime resident of Cameron and most recently resided in Lake Charles. Over the years, he built and operated several businesses before later becoming a truck driver, a role he embraced with dedication and pride.
Carroll will be remembered for his warm spirit and generous heart — he never met a stranger and would gladly give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He found great joy in life’s simple pleasures: tending fires in his backyard, gardening, grilling ribeyes, and shrimping along the Mermentau River in Grand Chenier. Above all, he treasured the time spent duck hunting with his son, Brent — moments that meant the world to him.
Carroll deeply loved his family and was a devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints, cheering them on with enthusiasm every season. His kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for those closest to him will be remembered always.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Tressie Smith and husband Wayne and Brent LaBove; step daughter, Debbie Gilley and husband Dwight; grandchildren, Kayleigh Skye LaBove, Nathan LaBove, T-Wayne Smith, Joseph Yanzo, Ashley Granger, Ashley Tiblier, Kristen Authement, and Jayden Authement; four great grandchildren; brother, J.D. LaBove; and life long partner and best friend, Lynn LaBove.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel "Joe" LaBove and Alberta "Tattie" Rutherford; son, Chris Authement; brother, Michael LaBove; and mother of his children, Connie LaBove.
