

Claiborne Lamar Robinson, 85, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2010, in his daughter’s residence. Originally from Toomsuba, Mississippi, Claiborne served as a rifleman in the 28th infantry division of the United States Army in World War II during which he received the Purple Heart with an Oak Leaf Cluster.
In 1946, he moved to Lake Charles where he met and married the love of his life, Helen Fuselier, to whom he remained devoted until his death.
A humble man, Claiborne lived his life as a prayer. Filled with love and laughter, he leaves as his greatest legacy his generosity and kindness towards all of God’s creatures and his belief in the innate goodness of man.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Fuselier Robinson of Lake Charles; daughters, Mary Kay Tête and husband, Robert of Lake Charles, Becky Eccles and husband, David of Baton Rouge, Susan Morris and husband, Darrell of Lake Charles; sister, Ruby Nelson of Meridian, MS; grandchildren, Robert Clay Morris and wife, Keri, Julie Morris van Weelden and husband, Berry, Lisa Katherine Harris and husband, Nick, Mary Jennifer Vath and husband, Richard, Melissa Eccles, Stephanie Eccles, William Robert Tête II, and Mary Claire Tête as well as 3 great grandchildren, Michael Clay Morris, Sarah Catherine Morris, and Mark Darrell Harris.
His funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Our Lady of Good Counsel. Rev. Alan Trouillé will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Rob Morris, Richard Vath, Nick Harris, Ronald Fuselier, Richard Fuselier, and Fred Reeves. Honorary Pallbearer will be William Robert Tête II. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles from 4-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. until time of service. Vigil service will be Friday evening at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Autism Society of America at www.autism-society.org.
