He fought a long and courageous battle with colon cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 38 years, Gayle Myers; children, Becky Broussard and husband, Guy of Westlake, Peggy Portie of Moss Bluff, Sammy Myers and fiance Belinda of Jennings, Cora Breaux and husband, Travis of Sweetlake; Joseph Myers and wife, Desirea of Sulphur; grandchildren, Nacole Benoit, Wayne and Bryan Portie, Paul Kershaw, Maryssa and Melinda Myers, Tracie and Laiton Myers, Terry Hickman; great grandchildren, Caleb Benoit, Kami Kay and Kolbyn Haggin Portie; brother, Donald Myers of Sulphur and sister, Laura of Pleasant, TX. He is preceded in death by his mother, Elvina Trahan; father, Joseph Myers; brothers, James M. Myers and Harmon J. Broussard and his granddaughter, Chelci Reed.
