

He was born in Glenmora and lived in Moss Bluff most of his life. He retired from South Central Bell as a cable repair technician; he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff, the U.S. Air Force and a Veteran of the Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal. He was attached to the 6169 Air Base Squadron and also a member of the VFW Post 9133 in Moss Bluff. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Doris Guinn of Moss Bluff; son, David Alvin Guinn and wife Pamela of Moss Bluff; daughter, Dana Marie Samarron and husband Refugio of Moss Bluff; very special sister-in-laws, Ailene Anderson, Barbara Brooks, Marlene Horn, Kathy Brooks, Sylvia Johnson, Minnie Guinn, two special nephews, Dale and Mike Guinn, three special nieces, Donna Goff, Kathy Randall and Rhonda Stanfield, special friends, Susan Simmons, Ronnie and Billie Lee, his dogs, Munchie, Spot, Belle and Jake.
His funeral will be 10:00am, Monday, March 28, 2016 at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Rev. James Rivers will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 12 noon until 6:00pm and resume Sunday from 2:00pm until 6:00pm and Monday from 8:00am until time of service at the funeral home.
