Ebi Emile Jennies, Sr., 88, of Lake Charles, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019 at his residence. He was born to his late parents, Emile and Dorcina Jennies on March 30, 1931 in Iota, LA. He was an avid reader and loved watching his western shows. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and loved Reba McEntire. He never lost interest in working, and worked until the very end. Most of all, he loved to dance with his wife, Lela.
He is survived by his two sons, Ebi Jennies, Jr. and wife Carol, Rendal Jennies and wife Vikki, both of Lake Charles; two daughters, Sinda Authement, Barbara Ann Burrough and husband Ronnie, both of Houma; 19 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; along with 9 great-great grandchildren.
Ebi is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lela Mae Jennies; one daughter, Peggy Guidry; one son-in-law, Edward Authement; one granddaughter, Terrica Ann Jennies; and two grandsons, Hunter Jude Authement, Louis James Guidry.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Thursday, August 8, 2019, with Father Charles McMillin officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, with a Rosary at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, from 11:30am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Reed Cemetery in Basile.
