Edith Ewing Trahan

She was born in Lake Charles and lived in Westlake for 50 years. She worked at Chennault Air Force Base, Calcasieu Locks U.S. Army Corp of Engineers where she retired September 2, 1990. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Fontenot; his father, Lee Fontenot; her sisters, Dorothy Atwell and Margaret Sladek; her brothers, Beverly “Bud” Ewing, Ronnie Ewing; her parents, Beverly and Dolly Ewing.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Allen Wardell Trahan of Westlake; son, William “Billy” Fontenot and wife, Anne of Corpus Christi, TX; daughter, Barbara Chapman and husband, Stanley of Gillis; stepchildren, Wesley Trahan and wife, Missy of Cameron Parish, Romona Rodriguez and husband, Gaston of Magnolia, TX, Dale Trahan and wife, Rhonda of Moss Bluff, Donna Moe and husband Steven of Moss Bluff, Greg Trahan and wife, Julie of DeRidder, Jennifer Dautreuil and husband, Carl of Arnaudville; 27 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. The Rev. Kenneth Sonnier will officiate. Visitation will begin Tuesday 5:00pm-9:00pm and will resume Wednesday morning from 8:00am until service time. Interment will follow in Prien Memorial Park in Lake Charles.
