She was a member of First Baptist Church, a member of the Eastern Star and was retired from the Calcasieu Parish School Board after 30+ years of service.
She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Hines of Kansas City, MO; sister, Willie Owen and husband, Richard D. of Lake Charles, LA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank T. Hines and Truman King.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Burial will be in Newton County Cemetery in Newton County, TX.
