

Ms. Cox is best remembered as an innovative teacher in Hayes and Bell City Elementary schools. In her thirty years of teaching, she touched many lives by providing many memorable moments for her students. She created many musicals, for which she composed the music, designed the costumes, and created the sets.
She will also be remembered for the many weddings and performances she played the organ and piano for, the wedding cakes she decorated, and her love of cooking.
She studied at Washington University in St Louis, MO. and McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA. and was a graduate of Sacred Heart College in Grand Coteau, LA.
She is survived by three children: Gwyn LeDoux of Denham Springs, LA; Richard Cox and wife Sheila of Lafayette, LA. and Stan Cox and wife Jan of Raleigh, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Kaleh LeDoux, Eric LeDoux, Ellen Gauthier and Amy Donnelly; four great grandchildren, Morghan, Chance, and Clair Gaudin, and Miles Donnelly. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanford Cox of 56 years, her parents, Roy and Jennie Lapham, brothers, Owen and Neil Lapham, sister, Dorothy McAdams, and grandson, Dunn LeDoux.
Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 5:30 p.m. and resume Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
